This special workshop session at the Innovate4Climate (I4C) conference event brought together global climate action champions and high-level officials from the World Bank’s donor and client countries to mark the operationalization of the Partnership for Market Implementation (PMI) – a new global partnership on carbon pricing and carbon markets. The PMI is the successor program to the Partnership for Market Readiness (PMR), the World Bank’s long-standing technical assistance program on carbon pricing and markets. Building on the lessons learnt from PMR engagement in more than 20 countries, the PMI is designed to assist countries to move from readiness to implementation of effective carbon pricing policies and efficient carbon market infrastructures, as they prepare to operationalize their NDCs and long-term decarbonization strategies.
