Partnership Assembly Meeting (PA9): Cologne

Colombia and Morocco received funding for their MRPs, while Brazil, Ukraine and Vietnam shared first drafts of theirs. Countries opened up on some of their carbon pricing work, including a carbon tax in Chile, emissions trading in the power sector in Mexico, and the latest on a national carbon market in China.

3. Presentation of Final MRP for Decision on MRP Implementation Funding | ||
Colombia and Morocco presented draft MRPs at PA8 in Mexico. In this session, Colombia and Morocco presented the core elements of their final MRPs, highlighting any significant changes from the draft version. The PA considered these versions of the MRPs for funding allocation decision. Adoption of a resolution on funding allocation is made under agenda item 10. | ||

Overview of the World Bank Carbon Finance Unit’s Initiatives | ||
A World Bank team gave Participants an overview of the Carbon Finance Unit’s initiatives, including a brief update on the process and the work related to the creation of a fund to purchase emissions reductions generated from scaled-up programs. The session gave Participants a better understanding of synergies and transferable lessons between World Bank Funds and Facilities. | ||

8. Monitoring and Evaluation | ||
The first part of the Results Framework—endorsed at PA7 in Marrakesh—proposes a system to evaluate the performance of the PMR. 10. Election of Co-chairs, Decisions, and Next Steps | ||
In accordance with the Governance Framework, the World Bank will chair the first two meetings of the PA. Subsequent meetings will be co-chaired by a representative elected, respectively, from the Contributing Participants and from the Implementing Country Participants. Co-chairs serve for one PA meeting. Contributing and Implementing Country Participants meet separately to elect their respective co-chair. Each group announced the results of their decision to the PA. | ||
