High-Level Event: Carbon Pricing and Argentina's Climate Policy (Buenos Aires)

The PMR held its 19th Assembly Meeting in Buenos Aires Argentina, from October 23 to 25, 2018. On this occasion, the Government of Argentina hosted a high-level event to discuss the opportunities and challenges behind using carbon pricing as part of a comprehensive policy framework to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Argentina. The event was divided into two sessions: (1) Argentina’s climate policy and readiness to implement carbon pricing, drawing on progress made by the National Climate Change Cabinet; and (2) Experiences of carbon pricing in the Americas, with a special focus on considerations for ensuring synergies between policy instruments.
